Honoring Service, Empowering Healing.

An Equine-Assisted Wellness Program for Veterans

Freedom Reins is an equine-assisted wellness program created specifically for military veterans by harnessing the healing power of horses. Rooted in respect, compassion, and resilience, this program provides a safe and supportive environment where veterans can reconnect with themselves, rebuild trust, and restore emotional and physical well-being, as well as confidence, and connection.

Rooted in respect and guided by the innate wisdom of horses, this program supports emotional healing and personal growth through purposeful interaction on the ground and in the saddle.

Through groundwork, grooming, leading and adaptive riding sessions, veterans experience the profound, non-judgmental connection between horse and human. This bond fosters confidence, reduces stress, and promotes a sense of purpose often lost in the transition from military to civilian life.  Horses who are sensitive and non-judgmental partners offer honest feedback and quiet strength, empowering each participant to move forward at their own pace.

Although grounded in trauma-informed practices, Freedom Reins is not a therapy program and is not facilitated by a licensed mental health professional. Instead, it offers a calm, horse-centered environment where veterans can reconnect with themselves, find emotional balance, and engage in meaningful reflection through guided equine interaction.

Freedom Reins honors the courage of those who served by offering a path forward—guided by the strength of the horse, the peace of nature, and a community that understands.
