Building skills, confidence, and connection from the ground up.

Gentle Reins of Hope is an unmounted program designed for individuals of all abilities who want to deepen their understanding of horses, improve their handling skills, and experience the joy of partnership without the need to ride. Whether preparing for future riding opportunities or simply seeking a rewarding way to engage with horses, participants will gain practical experience in grooming, leading, groundwork, and showmanship techniques.  All in a peaceful environment where individuals can breathe deeply, slow down, and feel supported through the silent understanding of a horse’s presence.

Taught by knowledgeable instructors in a supportive environment, this program empowers participants to grow in confidence, responsibility, and communication at their own pace and in their own way.

Participants will have the opportunity to work toward goals such as participating in Special Olympics equestrian showmanship classes or simply developing a personal connection with horses in a supportive, inclusive environment.

All-Abilities Horsemanship & Showmanship celebrates progress at every level and offers a path to growth, responsibility, and achievement one step at a time with Gentle Reins of Hope.

 This program is ideal for:

  • Participants not eligible or ready for adaptive riding
  • Individuals interested in competing in in-hand classes, such as Special Olympics showmanship
  • Anyone wanting to strengthen their bond with horses through ground-based learning
  • Those seeking emotional grounding or inner peace
  • Individuals who aren’t ready to talk, but want to feel connected
